After enjoying the night as the escort of Bea Alonzo to the recently concluded Star Magic Ball, Gerald Anderson admitted it was one of his favorite Kapamilya events this year. “Masaya siya. I think it was one of the best set-ups sa lahat ng ball na nakita ko. Ang ganda ng set up sa loob ng ballroom. Everybody was having fun. It was a great night. It was a nice night,” he shared during his video shoot for the Skechers Solemate campaign held last October 3 in Makati city.
Even though he has been attending the Star Magic Ball ever since it started in 2007, Gerald said he was happy for his date and the other female celebrities who look forward to attending it every year. “Hindi (siya nakakasawa) para sa mga girls. Yun yung triathlon nila (laughs). Yun yung pinaghahandaan nila eh nakita ko. Sabi ko nga, seeing kung paano naghanda si Bea, talagang it’s very special to them so you as a date and escort you want to make it extra special. Wala naman kaming coordinated outfit but I just know na she was really excited to wear her dress. Nakakatuwa kasi siyempre parang yun yung araw for them to be princesses ‘di ba?” he explained.
The Skechers celebrity ambassador said he is also happy about the current state of his love life that has been kept pretty much low profile this year. “Oo naman. I mean, parang personal eh so there’s nothing much to share about it. I mean siguro sa dami ko ng pinagdaanan in front of the camera pagdating sa mga ganun so it’s better just to keep a low profile. Mas ma-e-enjoy mo eh yung tahimik. Especially with our lives na laging may interviews and nasa harapan ng camera so it’s nice to have something quiet outside of show business,” he shared.
Even though they have yet to admit when they officially became a couple, Gerald admitted that Bea has helped him become an even better person inside and out. “This year mas matanda ako ng isang taon and I think mas well rounded as a person. I don’t know. Mahirap sagutin yan eh. Malaking influence si Bea. She inspired me a lot also. Pagdating din sa career namin nakaka-inspire din siya kasi kasi her passion for her work, yung passion niya din kung paano niya inaalagaan yung sarili niya,” he said.
The 28-year-old actor-athlete said that he especially enjoys it when Bea cooks for him. “She didn’t really teach me how to cook. Minsan nagluluto siya so masarap siya magluto talaga. Nakakatawa kasi yung mga niluluto niya medyo sosyal na pagkain (laughs). Yung mga pasta niya is good. Nakakatuwa kasi I think I became a more well rounded person dahil din sa nakikita ko sa kanya,” he added.
