Sue Ramirez on life before showbiz: ‘Mas madami akong tulog dati”

With her latest movie, Regal Films’ The Debutantes, opening on October 4, Sue Ramirez admitted that just like her character Kate, she also has had her fair share of experiences with bullying. “Of course I think everybody in this world nakaranas ng pambu-bully. A particular eksena siguro for me would be nung sumali ako sa love team ng Kathniel sa Pangako Sa ‘Yo. I was really bullied online. Cyberbullying is really a thing now.

Sue’s advice when it comes to bullying is to just prove the critics wrong. “So siguro ang pinakamagandang gawin is hindi naman totally ignore, maybe they have their points. Use it as a motivation to do better siguro. Not to impress them but just to really see inside of you kung ano yung mga ginagawa mo siguro. Gawin mo na lang na inspiration para to change for the better and siguro yun lang may mga nonsense na sinasabi tungkol sa ‘yo, ang importante naman yung mga taong nagmamahal sayo at sumusuporta, yan yung mga opinion na nag-ma-matter sa life mo,” she explained.

When not in front of the camera, Sue said she is pampered at home by her mom. “Yes super as in. My mom is turning 60 this year in December. Lima kaming magkakapatid and I’m the youngest,” she shared.

Even though she is already 21, Sue said she still remembers what an important part of her life it was to finally turn 18. Para walang nagmamadali Ang pinaka-perk siguro ng pagiging 18 is the realization of having bigger responsibilities. My mom’s growing old and nung nag-18 ako dun ako nagkaroon ng sense of responsibility na ako naman. ‘Mom I have work. Ako naman ang mag-aalaga sayo,’” she recalled.

With a busy schedule doing movies and being part of the hit primetime series La Luna Sangre, Sue admitted she does miss some things from when she was younger and had lesser responsibilities. Sabi ko nga yung pagod na nararamdaman namin ngayon it’s a good kind of pagod kasi nagpapasalamat ako kay Lord na meron kaming dahilan na mapagod, na meron kaming work so meron kaming blessing.

The Debutantes stars Sue Ramirez, Miles Ocampo, Michelle Vito, Jane De Leon, Chanel Morales, and Paolo Gumabao. Directed by Prime Cruz under Regal Films.
