Despite her success in horror films, Kim Chiu still refused to claim the “new horror queen” tag from Kris Aquino.
Kim, who has just finished her third horror flick titled The Ghost Bride under director Chito Roño, stressed that she has more to learn about the craft.
The Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin had previously worked with Direk Chito on the 2012 flick The Healing together with Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos and with Topel Lee on the 2008 film Shake Rattle and Roll X segment called “Plot” opposite Gerald Anderson.
“Siguro iba si Ate Kris. Siya talaga is really the horror queen by Direk Chito. Iba yun,” she began at The Ghost Bride digital conference.
“Tsaka siyempre ako, iba din,” she quickly added.
Kim opted to focus on the other aspects instead of the titles.
“Siguro I’m just very thankful and honored na mabigyan ako ng ganito kalaking pelikula. Na pinagkatiwala nila sa akin ito,” she said. “Lalo na si Direk at ang buong Star Cinema at lahat ng tao na bumubuo sa Ghost Bride.”
One thing that the “Okay Na Ako” singer is very much proud of is the fact that she has kept her close ties with the Queen of All Media even if the latter has been out of the network for more than a year now.
“Yes. Sabi niya, ‘Manonood ako,’” she shared.
Kim further revealed that Kris also promised another thing.
“Sabi niya kung kaya ng schedule ko, nandoon ako sa premiere night,” Kim said.
According to the singer-actress, Kris has been there for her all throughout the shoot.
“Sobra siyang supportive. Sabi niya, ‘Kamusta na ang shooting?’ ‘How’s Direk Chito?’ Okay naman. Oo namimiss niya si Direk Chito,” she ended.
Catch Kim’s return to horror this November 1 in The Ghost Bride together with Matteo Guidicelli, Christian Bables, Ina Raymundo, and Alice Dixson.
