Recently back in the country for a new endorsement, Haley Dasovich said she will still be based in the US especially since her brother Wil is undergoing cancer treatment in California. “I’m shuttling back and forth a lot more right now than I usually would be because of Wil’s thing and I just want to be in California more around this time. But I’m not really based here right now. I’m just here for a couple of weeks and then I’m going to go back. I have this event and then I have a meet and greet on October 21 at Glorietta. The rest of the vlog squad will probably be there,” she shared during the Head and Shoulders Supreme launch held last October 10 in Makati city.
Haley admitted she never expected to become a full time vlogger after her brother encouraged her after she left her last daytime job. “I worked in tech in San Francisco for four years and I kind of needed a break, to do something different and I never knew that it would last me as long as now this is my full time job. I never would have guessed that. Back then when I saw Wil doing it and I had a full time job, coming to the Philippines and he was doing all his vlogging stuff, I would look at him and I would say, ‘You do way more work than I would ever want to for my jobs. I never want to do what you do because I don’t want to work that much’ and now here I am doing exactly what I said I would never want to do and work that much (laughs). But you just got to put in the hours and the biggest thing about this job is having passion. If you don’t have passion for it, it’s not going to last. I’m not going to want to do it everyday if I didn’t wake up thinking what else can I do today,” she admitted.
As the sister of former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Wil Dasovich, Haley said she is used to being in front of a camera. “I grew up acting. I was in musical theater my whole life. I don’t know if I would want to do acting anymore though. Maybe I would do a reality show but I don’t know if I would do PBB,” she said.
The Fil-Am YouTube vlogger said she looks forward to resting out the rest of the year. “I need to take a break. I’ve been traveling for three years because my last job before vlogging was I traveled for the whole job. I need to spend time with my boyfriend. I need to spend time with my family. I have vlogged him once or twice, really subtle except it was kind of out in the open real quick. But I think he’s going to be in some of my vlogs. I think he wants to be in them,” she added.
With their family life always on camera, Haley admitted there isn’t any room for pretensions. “It is pretty much the same. The great thing about being a vlogger is that it’s kind of hard to show someone what you’re not because you’re not going to last. You can’t do that for a long time. So on camera or off camera me and my brother me are both pretty much the same. I would say we’re way more humorous and comical about it even off camera just because that’s how we always are but of course it was very, very stressful and very, very sad at first (when Wil announced the cancer) but we’ve all learned that picking each other up all the way, it’s like we’re all fighting together for him too,” she said.
If there’s anything that the world has yet to see with regards to her close relationship with her brother, Haley said it is when they have a big fight. “I don’t know if we’ve ever fought or argued on camera but when we do it can get really bad because us two, although we love each other so much, you can always say the most horrible things tot he people that you love the most so him and I can really get under each other’s skin but it’s very rare that we do and I think that’s something that we haven’t shown on camera. Us like being really mad at each other,” she shared.
Fans of their YouTube videos have also been curious about the real score between her brother and Alodia Gosiengfiao who is currently visiting Wil in the States. Haley kept mum on the Wilodia situation at home. “I don’t know. I’ve been in love teams that have been shipped that weren’t real either so I think it’s just whatever the audience can like have a ton of fun with then I think it works if the audience likes it. I actually don’t know anything about that,” she said.
