Mario Maurer is happy to be back in the Philippines: “I come back here for my fans”

On his nth visit to Manila, Thai actor and model Mario Maurer admitted that he never gets tired of coming back. “I come back here for my fans. I’m always happy to be back in the Philippines. I have friends here and the fans, there’s nothing keeping me from coming back. Honestly I cannot count how many times I’ve come back. It’s too much (laughs),” he said.

As one of the celebrity ambassadors of Head and Shoulders Supreme, Mario admitted that he always wants his hair to look good. “For me it’s one of the best and the number one shampoo in the world for me. It helped me clear out my dandruff. Doing this job I have to use my hair everyday so I have to do extra in taking good care of my hair,” he shared during the said endorsement’s launch held last October 10 in Makati city.

As one of the top celebrities in Thailand, the Head and Shoulders Supreme ambassador said he is most excited for his newest TV series. “I have a drama in Thailand coming out end of this month. It’s a period drama. In the drama I have to ride a horse and do fight scenes and stuff so it’s fun,” he says. Earlier this year, Mario also voiced Jon Snow in Game of Thrones which is dubbed in Thai in his country. “It’s quite tough for me. It’s a tough job because Snow has a deep voice and my voice is kind of high note so every time I go for dubbing I have to maybe warm up my voice. Because it’s very early in the morning so I have to warm up for 30 minutes.”

Even after getting his Masters degree in Political Communications this year, Mario said he will never stop wanting to gain new knowledge. “I did it because I work and I go to university. It was very fun for me to learn. I had new teachers and a lot of friends there. My parents always say I’m not too old to learn so I feel free to go to the university and get more knowledge and get to know more about business and stuff. It’s for my own knowledge but I would like to know it for business. I just want more knowledge. When you get more knowledge you can do more business, you get to know more things. I think it’s nice always to learn,” he explained.

Five years since his Star Cinema film ‘Suddenly It’s Magic’ with Erich Gonzales, Mario said that he is open to doing a film with another Filipino actor again. “I want to work with my good friend Joross Gamboa. He’s a very good actor. It’s very nice working with the Filipino team, they’re very fun to be part of. I am looking forward to this,” he said.
