Reunited on screen after four years, Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu share what viewers can look forward to in “Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin.”
After four years, former love team Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu reunite in the upcoming teleserye, Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin which is set to air soon on ABS-CBN’s primetime block.
According to Gerald, working for the show has been great as everyone, from the production team to the cast, is very motivated to do well.
“Nag-e-enjoy kami sa taping. Kami ni Jake (Cuenca), lalo na ‘pag mga eksenang nag-eexercise, gano’n or nagba-bike o tumatakbo, na-e-excite kami kasi ito ‘yung first time na tungkol ‘dun sa triathlon ‘yung show so we’re very excited for 2017 ‘pag pinalabas na ‘to,” he told PUSH.com.ph during the pictorial for the show.
Given that the characters of Gerald and Kim are triathletes, Gerald said that what is nice about the series is that he will be able to show his sporty side.
He said, “Behind the camera, sobrang active ako sa sports – something na gusto kong ipakita sa tao. And kung gaano kahalaga at importante ‘yung sports pagdating sa buhay ko, sa totoong buhay kaya ‘pag pinalabas ito, alam kong maraming makakarelate dahil mga Pinoy, napakasporty.”
Meanwhile, Kim described her working experience as refreshing to be able to work with those she had worked with in the past. “Refreshing to work with ‘yung mga nakatrabaho mo dati and then, ngayon. ‘Yun nga sila Jake, sila Gerald and first time ko to work with Coleen (Garcia) and some other artistas din so it’s refreshing to work with them again.”
She also said that she underwent physical training for this project. “Nagtraining kami. Nag-swimming, nag-bike and then, nag-run so parang ‘yung bike and run, hindi naman siya bago sa akin kasi I love running and then ‘yung bike, siguro pwede na. ‘Yung swimming lang talaga ‘yung pinakamahirap sa akin, ‘yung mag-freestyle kasi ang ginagawa ko naman sa swimming, sisid-sisid, ‘yung normal… Ito may proper training talaga.”
As to a side of her that she wants people to see in this show, Kim said, “Kasi ‘pag sa teleserye, lagi akong seryoso. Laging drama, iyak kaagad, pilot week pa lang. Ito, gusto ko iba naman… Parang ito kasi, it’s close to my personal character, ‘yung totoo ako talaga – ‘yung jolly, bubbly, ‘yung gano’n. Dito naipakita ko siya, nailabas ko siya.”
Directed by Dan Villegas, actors Jake Cuenca and Coleen Garcia also join the cast of Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin.
