FDCP chair Liza Diño says they have to address the violation of the law in ‘Oro.’
Matapos mapatunayan na totoo ang pagkapatay ng isang aso para sa isang eksena sa peilulang Oro, napagdesisyunan ng Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) executive committee na i-ban ang director nito na si Alvin Yapan at producer na si Shandii Bacolod sa pagsali sa film fest ng isang taon.
Ipinaliwanag naman ni Film Development Council of the Philippines chairperson Liza Diño na hindi ito dahil sa asong pinatay kung hindi dahil sa kanilang pagsisinungaling noon na wala raw napahamak na hayop.
“We have so much respect for the director because of what he wants to say in that scene. The only reason why this is a big issue now is because of what happened behind. There were reports that a real dog was killed. ...That is the issue. We have no intention on maligning the artistic merits, the cinematic excellence of this film. There was a violation of the law and that we just have to really address it."
