Xian Lim also talks about working with his idol Bea Alonzo.
Xian Lim is finally coming back to primetime less than a year after his last soap with Kim Chiu finished.
The hunky actor is set to join A Love to Last starring Bea Alono, Ian Veneracion, and Iza Calzado starting next week.
“Ang pangalan niya si Totoy at kababata siya ni Andeng at mahal na niya si Andeng bata pa lang, noong college days. Kaso naunahan lang siya ni Jerold (Victor Silayan) but now he's back and will do everything to win Andeng," revealed Xian about his role on the soap during a recent blogger’s conference.
With him slated to come between the brewing romance between Andeng and Anton, played by Ian, some might perceive his character as a villain. Others, meanwhile, might look at his new project as a sign of the end of KimXi, his love team with Kim.
“Ako nga po nagulat na nabigyan ako ng opportunity dito sa A Love to Last. But nothing was planned. Nabalita lang sa akin na ito ang mangyayari,” he shared.
According to Xian, he wasn’t the only one who was shocked by the different path that he and Kim’s careers are taking.
“In time meron ngang pros and cons sa mga ganyang pangyayari. ‘Yung mga supporters they were actually shocked,” he said.
Xian clarified that their current project are only “breathers” for their love team.
“Of course. It’s not naman na porket nawala ang KimXi sa movies at television eh wala na talaga ang KimXi,” he initially said.
He continued, “I’m sure there are still projects in the future na magkikita kami. But 2017, I don’t think they are going to see us this 2017.”
How does he feel that he’s not working with his perennial leading lady?
“On the set it’s the same people and kumbaga just different characters. ‘Yun lang ang nabago,” he said. “But, in terms of being away sa love team, everything is just the same. It’s just the challenge na makikita ng tao na iba.”
He assured fans that he and Kim are still in close contact with each other. In fact, Xian is still coming up with a Valentine’s Day surprise for his rumored ladylove.
But since he has made it a tradition to come up with a unique antic to make her feel loved, Xian admitted he’s somehow having a hard time about what to do this year.
“Sana nga lang ma-surprise siya kasi parang pangilang surprise na. So kailangan konting distansya here and there,” he said.
Catch Xian starting next week as Totoy in A Love to Last.
