Posh Spice wants Spice Girls members to perform new songs.
Looks like Victoria Beckham isn’t too happy with Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Mel B making a comeback as Spice Girls GEM.
According to a report by The Sun, Victoria has put a halt to the trio’s planned arena reunion by calling in lawyers to prevent them from performing Spice Girl hits.
In an interview last year, Victoria has already hinted at ‘trouble’ in the Spice Girls camp when she suggested that the three not call themselves Spice Girls.
“I do think they should sing their own material though, because what we did in the Spice Girls was so special. If they sang Spice Girls songs, I think I might be a bit sad,” she mentioned in her interview with UK TV personality Claudia Winkleman.
Posh holds joint writing credits on some of the band’s hits, including “2 Become 1,” “Say You’ll Be There” and “Spice Up Your Life.”
It was reported by The Sun in August last year that 4 members of the girl group were making a comeback. However, when Mel C rebuffed the reunion, the remaining three promoted themselves as Spice Girls GEM.
“The girls are devastated. Victoria was a huge part of their lives and now she is using lawyers to block their comeback.
“Victoria is proud of her Spice Girls history but this suggests she wants to cut all links with the group which transformed her life.
“She is resorting to aggressive legal letters and it is an extremely sad way for things to end after all they have been through together,” a source told the news site.
