Vin Abrenica admits he was tricked by Ellen Adarna poser

011217-VinAbrenica_PUSH.jpgHitting the ground running this year with two movie releases is Vin Abrenica who stars in his first drama film Moonlight Over Baler which opens in cinemas on February 8. The 25-year-old actor (who also stars in the action comedy Extra Service under Star Cinema) admitted playing the roles of Pinoy soldier Nestor and Japanese photojournalist Kenjie was a big challenge. "Yan yung isa sa mga goals ko sa movie, yung pag napanuod ng audience yung movie ay ma-di-distinguish nila yung two separate characters. It’s a challenge for me to do a dual role. It’s not only the accent or the way I talk. Si Nestor bilang galing sa military so lagi akong nasa matigas na side or laging straight to the point. Nanalalambot lang ako pag sa harap ng character ni Sophie na ginagampanan ni Elizabeth Oropesa dahil siya lang yung kahinaan ko. Yun naman kay Kenjie-san he’s the type na chinaracterize ko siya sa studies ko in a way na siya yung happy-go-lucky guy, nag-su-surfing siya so he’s more on the artsy side,” he shared during the Moonlight Over Baler presscon held last January 10 at the Limbaga 77 restaurant in Quezon city.

In his modern day persona Kenjie, Vin admitted he was excited to be paired with Ellen Adarna whom he had never met before their first day of shooting last year. "Actually it was my first time to meet her dito sa Moonlight Over Baler. Iba siya sa personal kasi ang background ko with Ellen is nung bago pa yung Facebook, sobrang dami na ng mga poser ni Ellen. And puro nude pictures yung nakikita ko dun so all along I thought she’s that type of person. Pero nung na-meet ko siya I found that she’s more interesting, she’s light, she’s funny. Ang layo-layo dun sa pagkakaalam ko sa kanya,” he recalled.

The Moonlight Over Baler star also admitted he thought he was connecting with Ellen online but it turned out to be one of her many posers. "Nagagandahan ako sa kanya. Si Ellen Adarna kasi sa face pa lang. Kaya nga alam ko na madaming poser kasi isa ako sa mga nabiktima na akala ko kausap ko siya pero hindi pala (laughs),” he added.

Vin admitted he would love to get the chance to work with Ellen again on another project and would not hesitate to defend her against any critics who do not know her personally. "Kung alam niyo lang si Ellen, you can see it in her face that she’s a Maria. I can say that she’s very frank, straight to the point if she talks to you, no barriers. ID she wants to say anything to you didiretsuhin ka niya. So kung ano yung nakikita niyo sa kanya, hindi siya ever magiging plastik kasi that’s her personality talaga,” he said.

Moonlight Over Baler stars Vin Abrenica, Ellen Adarna, Sophie Albert, and Elizabeth Oropesa and is produced by T-Rex Entertainment and distributed by OcoArts Films. The movies opens on February 8 in cinemas nationwide
