As one of the country’s hottest talents, it isn’t any surprise that James Reid’s endorsements keep on coming this year. The Till I Met You star admitted he is still getting used to being called “Ang Pambansang Abs.” "Nakaka-pressure actually. I’m confident with my body. For fitness goals, I think most important for me is to just maintain. It’s really to just stay healthy. When it comes to abs, it comes second; it’s a bonus. Staying healthy is really what’s important to me. I’m glad that I was able to inspire so many men. That was really my target to help men like me achieve their body,” he shared during the Century Tuna presscon held last September 6 in Makati city.
The 23-year-old actor also shared his fitness tips but admitted that chocolates are his weakness. "It’s very, very hectic my schedule but at times like this when I’m working a lot it’s really diet that helps me get by. It’s really high protein diet and I do include carbs and a lot of fiber. But if you put chocolate in front of me, I’ll eat it until there’s nothing left. Usually I don’t eat sweets. I’m actually controlled,” he revealed.
Another issue that James admitted he is glad to put to rest is his name being cleared with his talent management Viva releasing his negative drug tests as well as that of Anne Curtis’s. "That’s because I saw that it was in the tabloids. So just to clear our names. It was very good. I wasn’t worried. I just wanted to get my name cleared also,” he said.
With two of his siblings (older half-sister Lauren and younger brother Jack) starting to make a name for themselves in the industry, James said he could not feel any prouder. "I’m so proud of my sister right now (on being a magazine cover model). She’s accomplishing a lot and sobrang bilis. And my little brother Jack just came from a shoot today. We’re in Candy magazine together. It’s my first time to work with my brother so super happy,” he said.
The Century Tuna endorser had some advice to his siblings especially if they want to follow in his footsteps. "Just stay grounded. Focus really on what your doing this for which is for your family and ignore the haters, ignore the bashers. Just be yourself,” he added.
