Xian Lim shared that he and love team partner Kim Chiu are actually open to being paired with other stars.
“Napag-uusapan namin ni Kim ‘yan parang siyempre hindi naman kami ‘yung kumbaga hindi naman kami ‘yung team-up na parang ‘Uy exclusive tayong magkakatrabaho ha? Tayo lang ‘til the end, hindi naman. Actually we’re really excited for our future projects and for everyone who’s watching din. Ang team up namin four to five years na, since 2011 magkatrabaho na kami and people have been telling me ‘O gagawa ba kayo ng ibang type ng projects? Magkaka-partner ba kayo ng iba?’ [Sabi ko] ‘Yes of course’ and pag nakita nila kami partnered with other person, makikita pa rin nila kami together,” he said.
But Xian stressed that they are not going separate ways. “Wala namang nagsabi sa amin na buwag na ang love team namin pero it’s really up to the management sila naman ‘yung nagbibigay,” he said.
The actor was also asked about an update on himself and Kim after their teleserye The Story of Us concluded. Xian relayed that they actually hang out often but they just don’t post it on social media.
“Lagi kaming nagkikita, we’re just really not showy sa mga pictures namin but lagi kaming kumakain sa labas, ‘yung mga Chinese restaurants, mga tambay kami kung saan-saang restaurants and movies. We’re just not really maya’t-maya picture there, picture here,” he said.
Besides his career in showbiz, Xian recently joined an art exhibit in Osaka, Japan called 2664 KM.
“Ang title nong exhibit is 2664 KM. Well it is the distance between Manila to Osaka and ‘yun nga nag-exhibit kami ng may mga lima akong kasama, contemporary artists dito sa Pilipinas. We were invited by YOD galleries sa Osaka tapos ‘yung owner ng gallery na ‘yun si Ryotaro Ishigami. The reason why napunta ako sa Osaka is noong Philippine Art fair that was held in Makati a couple of months back, nakita niya ‘yung mga gawa ko pero ‘yung mga artworks ko na-exhibit na so after the exhibit he invited me. ‘You want to go to Osaka to showcase your artworks?’ sabi ko ‘Definitely, oo naman.’”
He further shared, “So when we got there eh kumbaga ‘yung trip na ‘yun may halong immersion na rin eh, ang daming learnings ng trip, papaano pag nasa gallery, to put up a whole show kasi it’s my first time doing out of the country to show my artwork. Kumbaga iba naman. Parang curious talaga ‘yung mga Japanese collectors and members of the press, they are really curious kung ano ‘yung gawa ng mga Pilipino.”
Does he plan on giving Kim a painting? “I know what she likes kasi, I know that she likes painting na sobrang colorful at sobrang masaya so maybe ‘yung mga subjects ko kasi it’s not really flowery, hindi siya ganon eh. Ang subjects ko more on renaissance stuff you see on museums, ‘yun mga subjects ko, kasi si Kim ayaw niya ‘yung mga nakakatakot, ‘yung mga walang mukha ayaw niya ‘yung may tumutulo sa mukha.”
