Sarah Geronimo says she’s 100% ready to go back to showbiz.
In her latest commercial, Sarah Geronimo shows a different side of herself. The 28-year-old performer talked about her caving experience in Tanay during shooting. "Kasi nung prinesent sa akin yung storyboard nakita ko na yung mga gagawin ko na may caving, sabi ko, ‘Huwag na mag (stunt) double diyan ako na talaga.’ So tinotoo na nga nila (laughs). So ako lang lahat ng iyon and na-enjoy ko naman. Parang naging preparation ko siya sa pag-akyat ko sa Pico de Loro, At saka na-inspire talaga ako kasi nagawa ko na dun eh,” she shared during the Manulife field trip event for the Gawad Kalinga kids held last September 26 in Museo Pambata in Manila.
During the event, Sarah showed that she was more than happy to bond with the children from the Gawad Kalinga village in Muntinlupa. Sarah admitted her bucket list includes doing more outreach projects in the future. “Suwerte ako na marami sa mga panagarap ko natupad habang bata pa ako. (Gusto ko) yung nga more outreach pa. Gusto ko ma-experience yung umakyat ng mga bundok at makita yung mga katutubo at mga kababayan natin dun. Yung culture nating mga Pilipino makita ko right before my very eyes kung papaano yung lifestyle nila. At saka kung ano man yung nalalaman ko ay maibahagi ko sa kanila dun,” she explained.
Just like her cousin, Sarah said she also wants to experience teaching kids in remote places. "Yes, (pero) papaturo muna ako sa kanya bago ako magturo (laughs). Definitely gusto ko ma-experience yun. Makapagbigay lang ng entertainment sa mga bata dun ay siguro malaking bagay na yun,” she added.
After a recent whale shark ping trip with boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli in Cebu, Sarah admitted it was her who thought of what to do for their anniversary. “Ako (yun). Kasi lahat ng ito na-experience na ito ng mga cousins ko like yung mag-swim ka with the butanding narinig ko na sa cousin ko na ginawa niya. So yun naging part na siya ng bucket list ko,” she says.
After taking a hiatus from showbiz to focus on her health, Sarah admitted she is definitely ready to come back in full force. “I’m back from a much-needed break and I was able to cross a lot of things off from my bucket list like cooking classes, mountain climbing, travel, and even spelunking. I am happy to be back and in a position to inspire people with this campaign,” she said.
Sarah also shared her biggest realization while she was on break. "Yes 100% yung mindset ko talagang mas energized, mas motivated to work harder kasi dumarating din sa stage ng buhay natin like ano ba yung purpose ko? Bakit ko na ito ginagawa? Ano ba yung kulang? I realized na you don’t work for other people, to please them, para mapuno yung concert venue mo, para maging super hit lahat ng songs mo. Hindi eh. Ang pinaka-importante pala sa lahat or yung main goal mo dapat is to share whatever you have, kung ano yung talent na binigay sa iyo ng Panginoon regardless kung bunga ng konti or sangkatutak. At pinaka-importante is to glorify and honor Him kung anong ginagawa mo sa buhay mo,” she admitted.
Although she does not have any plans to start any movie or TV projects this year, Sarah said she has a goal on what she wants to do first. "I’d like to focus more sa music ko and to promote kasi yung mga nakaraang album ko hindi ko na-promote ng maayos so I’m planning na talagang mailabas yung mga magagandang tracks dito sa latest album ko,” she said.
