Hashtags member Ronnie Alonte assured fans that despite the recent release of his single “Love At Website,” he would remain a member of It’s Showtime’s all-male dance group.
In an exclusive interview with Ronnie, he shared that the single and his upcoming album was a concept that came about even before everything else.
“Kasi nung nag-go-go see pa lang ako, ‘yung tita ko si RB Chanco, prine-sent niya ako sa Star Music, kay Sir Roxy [Liquigan],” he began. “As in di pa ako nag-start nito, as in wala pa akong MMK exposure as talent.”
Ronnie, who started in the business November last year when he was launched as part of the Kilig Ambassadors, shared that he was only doing TV commercials at that time.
“Pinakanta niya na ako [Sir Roxy]. During nung time na ‘yun sabi niya ‘Sige kunin ka namin,’” recalled Ronnie.
But then as months passed, he never got a call from the department.
“Hanggang sa siyempre nagtagal na, marami ng ibang artista na super kilalang kilala, ako naman wala,” said Ronnie.
But the call that he was waiting for finally came last year.
“Nung nag-start ako sa Hashtags naalala nila ako,” he said. “Ayun hanggang sa nabigyan na ako ng kanta.”
Apparently, Ronnie is also set to release his album soon. The Hashtags launched their album back in June. The album just turned gold last week.
“Tapos meron rin akong kinompose na kanta kaya abangan nila,” said Ronnie about his upcoming album solo album.
He continued, “Ayun binigyan nila ako ng pagkakataon na gawin ‘yun at malaki ang pasasalamat ko na pinagkatiwala nila sa akin ang Love At Website.”
Aside from an album, Ronnie is also set to stage a birthday concert titled Kilig King next month.
Before ending the interview Ronnie stressed, “Pero hindi ako humihiwalay sa grupo, baka kasi ‘yun ang tingin ng iba.”
