The teen performer talks about dedicating some of his songs to someone.
As one of the nominees again for this year’s PUSH awards, Inigo Pascual admit-ted he feels blessed to be part of the annual event.
"I’m happy. When I saw my name up against all the other people nominated, I thought it was already a blessing you know being nominated. At saka kami ni Julia Barretto, we were on it as well. Even if we don’t have any projects right now we’re still nominated and that’s a good feeling. Siyempre at least natandaan ng mga tao na may nagawa kami ni Jules. I’m happy. Thank you PUSH for nominating us. Kahit hindi manalo. At least na-nominate kami kaya masaya pa rin,” he said.
Aside from being part of a teen horror movie project, Inigo revealed he has also been busy preparing for his first album.
"Yeah I’ve been singing a lot on my Instagram. Kasi parang feeling ko I haven’t been singing. I haven’t been really been really who I really am. Kasi yun naman talaga yung ako eh. Music is my passion and I’m working on my album. It’s just taking a while pero meron akong mga konting tinatapos.
“I have one more song to finish but other than that it’s almost done. So I guess what I’m doing on my Instagram is preparing them for my singing career. Siyempre not a lot of people know that I sing. Not a lot of people know that it’s my first passion more than anything. And that way I can show that side of me,” he said.
The 19-year-old performer added he has been waiting a long time for an album and trusts that his management can help him find the right path to take when it comes to music.
"Well it’s my first album so of course I’m going to let the record label decide what they want to put, what style they want. Kasi siyempre mas may alam sila sa Philippine music industry. It’s going to be released either later this year or early next year. But I already did my photo shoot for it. I’m done with all of the songs except for one more song. So talagang patapos na ako,” he explained.
Not just a singer but a composer as well, Inigo proudly divulged his contribution to his debut album is more than just singing. He also couldn’t deny that some of the songs were dedicated to specific people that he refused to mention.
"I wrote four songs I think on it. Siyempre lahat naman ng kanta may meaning, may hugot kumbaga kung bakit mo sinulat. So every song has its own story,” he remarked.
