EXCLUSIVE: Daniel Padilla talks about upcoming projects with Kathryn Bernardo

Basta magiging mas seryoso na talaga,” he said in an exclusive interview with Push.But he was quick to emphasize, “Pero hindi naman ibig sabihin nu’n puro lahat na lang parang Barcelona. Hindi naman. Magkakaroon kami ng mas seryosong projects pero andyan parin ‘yung magkakaroon kami ng comedy.”Kathryn and Daniel received raves for their dramatic performances on the film as millennials Mia and Ely, respectively. Daniel is positive that Barcelona, which currently plays in over 320 cinemas nationwide, is a good stepping-stone for them to land more serious roles in the future.Despite their earlier reassurance on Tonight With Boy Abunda, several fans are still bothered by the possibility of KathNiel parting ways.To this, the singer-actor stressed that at the rate that things are going for him and Kathryn, as well as the warm reception of the public to their newest film, breaking them apart seems unwise.“Kung iisipin mo kasi, kung ganyan pa rin ang mga KathNiels, hindi magiging magandang move ‘yung ila-last mo na dahil sobrang daming KathNiels papano mo paghihiwalayin ang KathNiel mismo?” he said.Once again, Daniel called for their fans collectively known as KathNiels, not to be bothered by such rumors.“Mag-alala kayo kung ano, kung medyo nawala na talaga doon na tayo magkakahiwalay pero kung tuloy-tuloy na ayaw nilang tumigil eh hindi rin naman talaga titigil ang KathNiel,” he said.But he did confirm their previous claim that they might not be able to work together on their big screen projects“Magkakaroon siguro ng mga isa o dalawa na [na movie na] hiwalay pero hindi ibig sabihin no’n na may iba na siyang ka-loveteam. Hindi naman ganon,” he reiterated anew.What’s certain though is that they would still be working together as a loveteam in an upcoming soap.“Babalik na yeah. ‘Yung concert ko pinagpahinga ko muna kasi baka sawang-sawa na sila sa pinaggagawa kong concerts eh. Pero next year magkakaroon na ulit [kami ng soap], so abangan nila ‘yan,” he ended.
