Philippine weight lifter Hidilyn Diaz bagged the silver medal in the women’s 53-kg division in the Rio Olympic Games. She recorded a total weight of 200 kg.

Chinese-Taipei's Hsu Shu-Ching of Chinese Taipei won the gold with a total weight of 212 kg while Korea's Yoon Jin Hee bag the bronze with 199 kg.

The last time Philippines won an Olympic medal was 20 years ago. In 1996, boxer Mansueto “Onyok” Velasco won a silver medal in the Atlanta Olympic Games.
