Present at the album launch of Maalala Mo Kaya’s 25th anniversary commemorative album entitled Life Songs with Charo Santos last August 27 at the Eastwood Mall, Martin Nievera said that he feels honored to become part of this project.
“It’s a very feel good… Feel good about yourself, feel good about life,” the Concert King said, pertaining to the song choices in the album. He also said that he felt flattered to have collaborated with great singers as the album together various names in the industry such as Lea Salonga, Sharon Cuneta, Ogie Alcasid, Aiza Seguerra, Charice, Piolo Pascual, KZ Tandingan, Jona, Kyla, Noel Cabangon, Darren Espanto, Jed Madela, Gary Valenciano, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Lani Misalucha, Juris Fernandez, Jenine Desiderio, and Janella Salvador.
Meanwhile, Martin thanked everyone who came to his concert the night before, August 26, at the Kia Theater.
Despite the rain and traffic, Martin’s concert was a success. When asked if he felt pressured that his concert coincided with the concerts of the other artists, Martin answered, “I think we were all scared. You know the nice thing about the industry today is nakita ni Ogie (Alcasid) na may show si Martin, pino-promote niya ‘yung show ko. The Richards (Poon and Yap) at the Solaire, congratulations to Richard Poon and of course, Ser Chief for a great show… Ang dami daming shows all on the same day and I think everyone did equally well. You know what I did? I texted, I tweeted, I said to everybody who’s confused as to watch show to watch, watch the one closest to you para maiwasan ang traffic.”
Martin’s concert coincided with the concerts of Richard Poon and Richard Yap, Ogie Alcasid and Spongecola.
