Diego Loyzaga denies courting Sofia Andres: ‘It’s not the right time para ma-in love’

082816-DiegoLoyzaga_pushmain.jpgAfter being the escort of Sofia Andres to her debut last August 24, Diego Loyzaga revealed that he actually helped with preparations to the black and white party along with some of Sofia’s family members. "Well actually we were secretly organizing it for quite a while now. Actually ate niya talaga pero may mga hinihingi sa akin, mga tinatanong sa akin. Lahat kami nagtulungan para maihanda ito. I didn’t do as much as I could’ve done pero mas ate yung sumalo at nagsabi na siya na ang bahala. Ate Lara did a lot to fix this event for Sofia. I just pretty much had to sing and look cute (laughs),” he shared.

Diego admitted he had been teasing Sofia about turning 18 this year since they have been taking workshops together for their upcoming new show. "Actually nung isang araw ko pa sinasabi sa kanya na, ‘Mag-e-18 ka na.Wala lang, I guess ang tagal ko kasing inaasar sa kanya na she’s still young and marami pang kailangan ipaalam kay mommy and daddy and laging kasama si Mommy and Daddy wherever we go and whatever we do. Pang-asar ko lang naman sa kanya yun pero yun lang,” he said.

Despite their sweet posts on social media, the 21-year-old actor said he is not courting Sofia. "I’m here for Sofia. Ayoko naman sabihin na as an older brother pero asar niya rin sa akin yun eh. Ang tawag niya sa akin ‘kuya’ pero I’m here to guide her. Mas kuya actually role ko. To be honest parang kuya niya talaga sa lahat ng bagay. Even if she doesn’t ask for my advice binibigyan ko siya ng advice kahit hindi naman ako yung pinakamagaling magbigay ng advice. Lagi ko lang pinapaalala sa kanya na andito ako para sa kanya,” he explained.

With their love team about to be launched in a new teleserye, Diego said they both agreed to focus on their careers first. "Uulitin ko, she was only 17 but tonight she turned 18. Pero andito pa rin tayo na bata pa rin siya and we’re still in our early ages ng love team natin so we’re still seeing where we’re going to go from here. Simula pa lang yung work namin so nagsama talaga kami halos araw araw dahil sa workshop, dahil sa work din. So let’s see when taping starts but we’re just really good friends. Really good, happy together friend,” he added.

The young actor shared why he couldn't have asked for a better love team partner. "I’m happy na si Sofia ang love team ko. Like I said, magkaibigan lang kami ni Sofia. It’s not the right time para ma-in love. I mean, she’s still young. C’mon guys bata pa siya. Sobrang aga pa sa relationship namin para sabihin yung term na in love. That’s a very meaningful phrase. Kung talagang nakahanda sa amin etong mga sunod sunod na projects and everyday kami magkakasama, hindi ko masasabi na hindi ako ma-i-in love. I don’t know. Wala pa tayo dun,” he said.

Diego admitted that both his parents Cesar Montano and Teresa Loyzaga have met Sofia on separate occasions. "Yeah na-meet na ni Daddy si Sof and na-meet na ni mama. Ang payo from my parents and pati naman parents niya ay magtrabaho muna. Siyempre mauuna pa rin ang pagtratrabaho naming dalawa kasi marami pang naka-lineup para sa amin. I met her family. She’s met my family. I think it’s better like this na we have an open relationship. it’s good to be good friends before entering work together. Kasi mahirap talaga pag hindi kayo magkaibigan,” he admitted.
