Richard Yap and Richard Poon talk about handling sexual advances as married men.
On Tonight with Boy Abunda, the Chinito Crooners, Richard Yap and Richard Poon, admitted that in some ways they are what some would call alpha males or men who assume dominance.
“I think in some ways, yes,” Richard Yap acknowledged. “But there are times that we are not – when it comes to our wives.”
Meanwhile, Richard Poon shared, “I am the dominant one, she’s the more supportive one,” referring to his wife, Maricar Reyes. “Pero sa marriage naman talagang bigayan yan.”
On how they handle advances as they are two of sexiest men in the showbiz industry or as host Boy Abunda put it, “syempre lapitin. Syempre may mga magpapahiwatig.”
“We take into consideration that we’re married and we’re not supposed to be doing those things anymore. So we tell people that we’re married,” Richard Yap said.
In Richard Poon’s case, he shared, “sa totoo lang ang fans ko, honestly, are lolas who kiss me na parang,” and Richard Yap interjected, “gusto siyang higupin.” “That’s really honestly, kidding aside, yun yung fans ko talaga because I bring back the memories when I sing the songs of Sinatra and stuff.”
Boy couldn’t help but reaffirm what Richard Yap said wherein, as he put, “sometimes sa buhay, you have to be very clear. But there are some people, not just women, but some men, who are attracted to people who are married. That’s why you have to protect your territory. You have to protect your love, you have to fight for it.”
“It’s true, it happens,” Richard Yap agreed. “The best thing is you just ignore it. Kasi if you dignify it with an answer parang gusto mo pa eh! Parang ganoon, so huwag na lang. It might lead to something so you might as well disregard it.”
