EXCLUSIVE: Neil Perez admits he will always choose law enforcement over showbiz

082416-neil_main.jpgDuring his launch as the new ambassador of KIX channel show R U Tough Enough, Mr. International 2014 and police officer Neil Perez admitted he is happy to continually be able to help uplift the image of law enforcers in the country. "Sobrang saya ko talaga kasi this is the way to promote a healthy lifestyle also di ba? Para ako maka-inspire ng mga kabataan to join and compete in these kinds of challenges. Excited na rin ako. Tuloy tuloy pa rin yung fitness ko at maintained ko pa rin yung katawan ko and then yung advocacy ko as Mr. International tinutuloy ko pa rin yun kahit hindi na ako reigning Mr. International,” he shared during the KIX R U Tough Enough presscon held last August 23 in Makati city.

The 31-year-old police officer is also an active member of an elite police unit and an explosives expert which is why he keeps himself in top shape and made him the perfect choice to be this year’s KIX ambassador.

Neil said he doesn’t need to go to a gym everyday to keep himself in shape. "Every morning nag-pu-pump ako so kahit hindi ako mag-gym. Like sa ngayon marami akong trabaho sa pulis tapos ganitong mga extra-curricular activities, kung makalimutan ko man mag-gym basta sa umaga makapag-push-up at sit-ups na ako okay na ako,” he added

Assigned to the Special Operations Unit of the Aviation Security Group at the airport for more than five years now, Neil said there was no problem with him being part of the show.

Just like his fellow policemen, Neil said he is also happy to know that President Duterte is on his side.

After a stint in acting last year, Neil said he misses it but his police work is his real passion.
