Lilia Cuntapay died at her son’s home in Pinili, Ilocos Norte this morning.

Lilia Cuntapay, who is dubbed as the “Horror Queen” of Philippine Cinema,
has passed away today at her son Gilmore Cuntapay’s home in Brgy. Tartarabang,
Pinili, Ilocos Norte.
It was around 6 in the morning when she was pronounced dead, her
grandchild Elma Cuntapay-Daet confirmed with ABS-CBN News.
Lilia was last seen on TV
Patrol when she asked for financial aid to be able to pay her medical
bills. She had a spinal cord problem, which made her unable to walk and work.
She said that it started since July.
The actress was featured in several horror films and series such as
“Shake, Rattle and Roll,” “Okatokat” and “Wansapanataym.” Her role as Lola
Aunor in Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil first teleserye “Forevermore” was much
talked about because of her love team with Nonong De Andres aka Banky.
She got the award for Best Actress at the 2011 Cinema One Originals
Digital Film Festival when she starred in the movie “Six Degrees of Separation
From Lilia Cuntapay" which was directed by Antoinette Jadaone.
