John Prats was very happy for his nephew Nathan Linsangan
after the latter was recently launched as part of the new batch of Goin’ Bulilit stars.
The Banana Sundae
star’s contract renewal with ABS-CBN came less than a week after the
introduction of the new stars on the youth gag show.
“Well nae-excite ako kasi ano eh, ‘yun ‘yon eh, same age
kami nung pumasok ako. Kasi 8-years-old ako nung pumasok ako eh tapos same pa
ang genre,” he said of the only son of his sister Camille Prats with her late
husband Anthony Linsangan.
John and Camille were both former cast members of the hit
‘90s youth-oriented show Ang TV
According to John, he especially reminded Nathan to “enjoy”
his moments as part of the show.
What advice did he give his nephew?
“Nakakatanda lang ng feeling kasi parang next generation na
ng Prats. Nakita ko kasi gustong-gusto niya eh, so excited ako talaga for
Nathan,” he added.
Who decided for Nathan to try out his luck in showbiz?
“Bigla lang eh. My pamangkin Nathan, sabi niya sa lola niya
gusto niyang mag Goin’ Bulilit. Kasi
siguro nanonood siya ng Goin Bulilit tapos
nakita niya na nag-e-enjoy. Sabi ko, sige I’ll talk to Direk Bobot [Mortiz],”
What’s more is that nobody really “taught” Nathan how to
become an actor.
“Ganon lang talaga siya, very makwento, ma-chika, hyper and
mahilig magbiro. So talagang nasa kanya siguro ang dugong artista,” shared
Despite having the “access” to Goin Bulilit’s Direk Bobot, John proudly revealed that Nathan did
not take the easy route to get on the show.
“Kasi siyempre kailangan dumaan pa rin sa proseso ‘yan eh.
So nag-audition siya tapos nakita ni Direk Bobot na masaya so nag-trial ng
ilan. Tapos hanggang na-welcome na siya finally na maging part ng Goin’ Bulilit,” he ended.
