Both singers expressed how happy they are to be part of the commemorative album for Maalala Mo Kaya.
Jona and Kyla are very happy that they have become part of drama anthology Maalala Mo Kaya’s 25th commemorative album, Life Songs with Charo Santos.
According to Kyla, she was “Kilig na kilig” when told about her participation in the album, adding that it is an honor and privilege to take part in this project.
“Nakakaiyak po. Parang nakakaproud na ‘Yes! Kasama ako dito’” she emotionally admitted during the album’s media launch.
Likewise, Jona said, “At first po, hindi po ako makapaniwala kasi siyempre, makakasama po namin dito si Ma’am Charo and alam naman natin lahat na siya ‘yung kaisa-isa na ni-lu-look up po talaga ng mga kababaihan.”
Saying that it is another dream come true for her, the new Kapamilya singer shared that this is the first time in her 11 years in show business to collaborate with Kyla, the country’s Queen of R&B.
“For how many years din po na kumakanta po ako rito sa industry, for 11 years, first time ko rin pong na experience na magkaroon ng official collaboration with ate Kyla.”
When asked if they already collaborated before as both transferred to ABS-CBN from GMA 7, Jona answered, “We did several live performances but never sa isang album talaga so natutuwa talaga ako. Thank you, Star Music and thank you, Ma’am Charo.”
Jona and Kyla sang their version of Celine Dion’s Because You Loved Me in the album.
