Vanessa Matsunaga: “Daniel is very soft-hearted and he’s very nice and kind to everyone, especially to animals.”
Daniel Matsunaga’s sister Vanessa shared how her brother rescued an injured dog during the taping of the morning show, Be My Lady.
“Daniel is very soft-hearted and he’s very nice and kind to everyone, especially to animals so when he was at taping and he saw this dog. Apparently, somebody slit the throat of the dog so he was in very bad shape. He was bleeding all over and he was going to die,” she narrated.
Saying that Daniel was texting her during that time, Vanessa said, “He was really angry about the whole situation,” adding that he wants to keep the dog.
She then told him that he cannot keep it as he has Julie, an Alaskan Malamute who does not like small dogs. Hence, they decided to get in touch with PAWS, an animal rescue organization. “At first, they didn’t have space for the dog at the shelter so Daniel took care of the dog. He’s really like that. He really loves animals and especially, little kids,” she said.
Currently, the dog is with PAWS and would appreciate any help.
Meanwhile, Vanessa talked about her new business venture, the Naxional South American Diner situated at Upgrade Parade, BGC where she and Daniel are partners.
“Together with our partners, we are 14 in total but the idea came from Sir Raymond (Magdaluyo) when he traveled to New York and he saw the South American diner, he really got inspired by it. Of course, Daniel and I, we’ve always have a dream to open a Brazilian restaurant here in the country and we approached him and it was just the right timing, I guess,” she narrated how the business came to be.
Saying that they are always at the venue and are very hands-on with taking care of the customers, Vanessa shared that the Brazilian recipes on their menu are their mother’s and the dishes that they “crave for the most.”
