070816-myrtle_main.jpgReturning recording star Myrtle Sarrosa happily shared that her sophomore album Now Playing – Myrtle is an all-original, self-composed album, which took her years to complete.

Myrtle, during the press conference for her newest album, shared that she is happy where she is right now even though some are still comparing her to other stars.

The cosplay-personality-turned-actress-host was named as the big winner of Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition 4 in 2012.

Since then, Myrtle said critics have incessantly compared her career path to those of the other “more successful” PBB Teen Edition big winners like Kim Chiu (Season 1), Ejay Falcon (Teen Edition Plus), and James Reid (Teen Clash).

Pero sabi ko naman sa kanila different ang path namin sa isa’t-isa,” she said.

Myrtle added, “Never compare what you have with what others have. Maging grateful ka lang. Every time na iniisip ko ‘yun ay may dumarating at dumarating na projects.”

Aside from promoting her nine-track album, Myrtle is currently busy being part of the superhero show My Super D.

But she stressed that she still makes time for her studies. According to the 21-year-old star, she is down to her last semester in University of the Philippines Diliman as a broadcast communication student.

She also proudly shared that, as far as her current grades are concerned, she is in the running for Latin honors.

“Every time tatanggap ako ng trabaho sinisigurado ko na hindi sasagasa sa school,” said Myrtle.

For Myrtle, at the end of the day, what really matters is, knowing which one to prioritize.

Ang Star Magic ang nagsasabi sakin na dapat meron kang fall back. ‘Kailangan talaga meron kang other investment sa buhay mo,’ sabi nila sa akin,” she shared.

Turns out it was Myrtle’s personal choice to simultaneously pursue a showbiz career and to finish her schooling in order “to improve myself further.”

Kasi nung una, after PBB hindi muna ako nag-aral kasi hindi ko alam kung saan papunta ang career ko eh,” she confessed.

But now, almost four years since she has stepped out from the famous yellow house, Myrtle said she could not be any more grateful with the things that are coming her way.

Apart from her new album, another thing that Myrtle is thankful of is her upcoming mini-concert happening on July 14 at Zirkoh Tomas Morato.
