She was just 12 years old when she auditioned for Ang Huling ChaCha ni Anita</b><br/><br/>In Therese’s Facebook bio, it said that she was just 12 years old when she auditioned for the film Ang Huling Cha Cha ni Anita which was an entry to the 2013 Cine Filipino Film Festival. She won her first Best Actress award and even bested superstar Nora Aunor in the said category.<br/><br/><a href='http://www.interaksyon.com/entertainment/whos-that-girl-meet-teri-malvar-cinefilipino-best-actress/'>Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, director of the film told Interaksyon that she was the only youngster in the audition. Therese wasn’t even supposed to audition, she just went with her mother who auditioned. </a><br/><br/>“She had no acting background and the only experience she had was joining declamation contests in schools. But I never gave up on her. I saw in her the character and sincerity of young Anita. We did a lot of workshops and in every workshop she surprised me with improvements on her character.
