What started out as a joke turned out to be something real for Maris Racal.
Early this week, Maris admitted that she is “jealous” about the ongoing pairing of her love team partner McCoy de Leon to his co-Pinoy Big Brother celebrity housemate Elisse Joson.
In an interview with the teen star at the Tunog Star Magic launch, she stressed that she was just actually playing around that time.
“Sabi ko lang ‘yun. Biro lang ‘yun,” she said even pointing out that the new tandem is a non-issue for her.
“‘Yung mga tao lang naman ang gumagawa ng issue kasi normal lang naman na ma-miss talaga ang isang kaibigan. Lalo na kapag palagi kayong nagsasama at palagi kayo sa taping, siyempre mami-miss mo ba,” she explained.
After much prodding about “jokes being half meant,” Maris eventually yielded that she does feel a small amount of legitimate jealousy.
“Para sakin kasi may two types of selos. May possessive selos and may pa-cute lang na selos. Parang nagse-selos ako for the fans,” she said.
But the fact that she feels “selos,” even for just a bit, means that she feels something for the Hashtags member?
“‘Yun nga ang sabi ko, we are friends with good understanding,” Maris said.
Maris defined this “good understanding” as the agreed upon knowledge that “love team kami na we have to work together.”
“Siguro nagwo-work ‘yun sa showbiz kapag magkatrabaho kayo,” she presupposed.
Having mentioned their fans, the McRis fans have been very vocal about their dismay over the rising McLisse tandem.
“Oo nga eh. Sobrang nalungkot ako for them pero isipin lang nila na ganon talaga sa showbiz,” said Maris.
Maris confessed that shares the sadness and regret that their fans have been feeling.
“Oo naman! Sayang kasi malaki na ang fandom na nabuo niya because six months din nag-run ang We Will Survive and sobrang daming tao ang sumusuporta sa McRis and ‘yun nga na-break talaga ang heart ng fans,” she explained, adding that she somehow expected their fans’ intense reaction.
According to Maris, she won’t really feel bad if in case McCoy and Elisse decide to actually “see each other” after their stint inside the big yellow house. In fact, she said, she has prepared herself for the worse once everything is over.
“Okay lang like naisip ko na rin ‘yun na, for sure, mag-che-change ang love teams,” she ended.
