Boy Abunda talks about Freddie Aguilar being the chair of NCCA

Kamakailan lang tinanggap ng singer na si Ka Freddie ang alok ni President Rodrigo Duterte na maging pinuno ng NCCA. Ayon pa sa report, sinabi diumano ng kasalakuyang chairman na walang karapatan ang Presidente na magtalaga ng pinuno ng NCCA dahil pinagbubutohan ng board of commissioners ang nasabing puwesto.Sinabi ni Boy na, “I don't appreciate the condescension. I don’t appreciate yung pangmamaliit because you know for as long as your heart is in the right place,and some of the greatest leaders in this world ay mga taong hindi mataas ang pinag-aralan. Pero for as long as your heart is in the right place and you have the mind of a manager, hire the right people to run the bureaucracy, to run the everyday activities for example, of the commission, you can do it. ‘Wag natin tawaran ang kakayahan ng ating kapwa hanggang hindi natin nasusubukan.” Ganunpaman, sinabi rin ni Boy na ang pagkakabuo ng NCCA ay napapasailalim sa isang Republic Act o isang batas. “It is not easy to be the chair because nga it is governed by a law. Sa aking pagkakaalam, the chair of NCCA is voted by a board of commissioners.”Meron rin daw apat na representatives sa board na nanggaling sa mga sumusunod na subcommissions: arts, cultural heritage, cultural dissemination, at cultural communities and traditional arts. Bukod rito ang board ay may mga representatives rin mula sa Senate, sa Congress, kasama rin ang Secretary of Tourism at Secretary of Department of Education, atbp.Pagtatapos ni Boy, “kaya sana ilagay natin sa tamang perspektibo ang pag-uusap na ito.”
