Actor Matt Evans takes on another gay role in the newest Kapamilya late afternoon soap, The Greatest Love. He plays the character of Andrei Alegre, son of matriarch Gloria Alegre, as portrayed by Sylvia Sanchez, who will suffer from memory loss.
According to Matt, this role is different from the other gay roles he did in the past in the projects like Must Date The Playboy, Pare Mahal Mo Raw Ako, and The Reunion, among others.
“Sobrang hirap at saka at the same time, sobrang challenging for me kasi sobrang iba siya sa lahat ng mga ginawa kong gay roles before. Kasi, like before, ‘yung mga ginawa ko for romantic comedy. So ito talaga, heavy drama so talagang kailangan mag-immersion kayo,” he told PUSH.com.ph, adding that he would like to undergo further workshops for him to improve his craft more.
Matt said he has no problem being given gay roles. He said, “Para sa akin, sobrang challenge accepted kasi sa akin, walang maliit o malaking trabaho talaga.
Aside from being an actor, Matt is also a loving husband and father. According to him, management is key in order to be able to juggle responsibilities well. Kailangan ‘yung family mo, naiintindihan ‘yung trabaho mo and ‘yung work mo, hindi mo dinala sa pamilya mo,” he said.
