Gary Valenciano reveals the disadvantages of working with son Paolo for his concert

071516-gary_main.jpgNaikuwento ni Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano ang ilang disadvantage at advantage working with his son Paolo Valenciano bilang director ng kanyang concerts. Si Paolo ang director ng Gary V Presents na ginanap/gaganapin sa Kia Theater on July 15 and 16.

“Kung may disadvantage, it would be dahil director siya, kailangan kong sundan ang lahat ng gusto niya. But that does not exist,” simula niyang pahayag sa Push.com.ph.

That’s why it’s an advantage for me to work with Paolo kasi nakikita niya at pag sa mga usapan namin nakikita niya at nasasalo niya kung ano yung nais naming gawin and he takes care of it from there,” dagdag ni Gary.

Hindi rin daw sila nagkakaroon ng matinding arguments sa style ng pagdidirek ni Paolo.

“With Paolo, no! I don’t,” sabi agad niya.

Dagdag pa ni Gary, “Kasi may dahilan kung bakit isa siya ngayon sa mga pinaka-in demand pagdating sa mga live concerts hindi lang ng artists but live performances and events of companies.

“Kasi talagang he’ll study the company. He’ll study what they’re there for. He wants to know about the people that work in the company. Then he’ll come out with something for the company.”

Eh, paano kung may gusto siyang gawin sa concert na ayaw ni Paolo?

“At the end, then I have to bring in my muscle and say ‘I’m your dad,” biro pa niya.

“It’s Gary V Presents so we will do it this way, but we never end up like… usually it’s tawanan, eh, hanggang do’n lang.”

Patuloy pa ni Gary, “Kasi when it comes to artistic, the creativity, we both see things from the same angle at hindi rin ako takot sabihin sa kanya, ‘Pao, parang medyo in this concert na nadirek mo or in this event na ginawa mo parang medyo bumaba yung energy. ‘Yeah, dad I know, what do you think dad, what should we do.’

“So it’s like that kasi lagi naming iniisip kung ano yung magugustuhan ng tao , kung ano ang impact sa tao in the shortest possible time. Siya yung nag-suggest sa akin na ‘Dad, enough na of the three hour concerts. The most you can go is 2 hours and 15 at kung lumampas pa don, 2 hours and 20 but nothing more than that.’”

With regards to talent fee, hindi raw niya kailanman tinipid ang anak o tinawaran.

“I pay him what he’s worth. He has to be paid that way. Ayokong isipin niya na porket I’m his dad… I want to give it to him and let him know, ‘you deserve this son,’” pagtatapos ni Gary.
