Jay-R Siaboc admits drug addiction, surrenders to police in Cebu

071316-JayR_main.jpgPinoy Dream Academy first runner-up Jay-R Siaboc presented himself to the police in Toledo City, Western Cebu yesterday, July 12 for using illegal drugs.

This is in accordance to President Rodrigo Duterte’s call for drug addicts and pushers to surrender to the authorities since he assumed office on July 1.

According to Supt. Samuel Mina Jr., the 29-year old former actor and singer surrendered because he wanted to change his life. Jay-R was with his wife and cousin.

In a report by Cebu Daily News, he was one of the 528 suspects who surrendered in Toledo.

“He confessed that he’s been using drugs but not a peddler,” Mina divulged.

He also said that it was his friends from Barangay Awihao who gave him drugs. He didn’t name his friends but he already signed a waiver and is now being monitored by the police.

Jay-R last appeared on TV in 2015 on It’s Showtime.

He has also starred in ABS-CBN shows like Imortal, Palos, and Kapitan Boom since ‘graduating’ from Pinoy Dream Academy in 2006.

The rocker also released an album titled Hiling in 2007.
