070816-pinay_main.jpgA Filipino agency nurse named Hadassah Peri has received millions of pounds worth of gifts from one of the world’s wealthiest women. In an article published by Mirror UK, the Pinay nurse had been taking good care of reclusive Huguette Clark for years after the latter was admitted to the hospital because of face cancer. Huguette is the youngest child of Senator William Clark who once had been in the running for the title as the richest man in the US.

Hadassah would spend time with Huguette for 12 hours a day, seven days a week. Later on, the heiress has begun to shower the nurse with gifts.

Huguette bought Hadassah seven homes and a Bentley car. She even offered her a Cezanne painting and an antique violin which was later sold for the cash. The heiress also paid the medical bills and tuition fees of Hadassah’s family. She also bailed them out after an unexpected tax bill.

By the time that the heiress died in May 2011, Hadassah had received more than £18million worth of gifts in the span of 20 years from Huguette. She also gave the Pinay nurse £8.75million in her will.

“Sometimes I would say, ‘You gave me a cheque already today.’ But she would say: ‘You have a lot of expense, you can use it.’ I accepted the cheques because we have a lot of bills. Madam is very generous. I don’t ask for it. Madam cared deeply about my family and all the devotion that I give.” Hadassah shared.

Huguette’s final legacy angered her relatives and they launched a successful legal battle to invalidate her will and acquire cash for themselves.

Hadassah agreed to give up the cash she received from Huguette’s will and paid back £3million worth of gifts last September of 2013. She was allowed to keep the rest.
