Now that the drama anthology Maalala Mo Kaya is on a year-long celebration after 25 years of telling real-life stories, viewers wondered if the life story of its host Charo Santos-Concio will be shared on MMK also.
MMK’s Creative Manager Mel del Rosario did not deny the fact that they had considered doing the life story of Charo who is also the Chief Content Officer of ABS-CBN. “We’ve discussed this many times before. Personally, hindi pa ito ‘yung proper time but we’ve discussed it that there will come a time that Ma’am Charo will have to share her story pero hindi pa (ngayon),” she said and then implied they were looking for an appropriate cast.
Meanwhile, aware that MMK has showcased its actors’ skills in doing drama, director Olivia Lamasan shared that actors take their MMK acting break seriously. “Parang naging venue ito eh. Nakakatuwa kasi when you talk to the artists, palaging may kaba sila, may daga sa dibdib ‘pag sinasabing mag-guest ka sa MMK kasi para sa kanila, isang challenge ang lumabas, sobrang laking trabaho para sa kanila,” she said.
Recalling celebrities who got noticed for their acting skills while doing challenging roles in MMK like John Lloyd Cruz, Gerald Anderson, Zanjoe Marudo, and Piolo Pascual, among others, Mel said, “’Yung roles naman nila sa mainstream, let’s say love story, rom-com, so sabik din sila na acting piece… Iba ‘yung frame of mind nila ‘pag mag-MMK.”
As part of their 25th anniversary celebration, MMK made improvements on their website so people can re-watch old episodes.
