With a blossoming movie career, Coleen Garcia admitted she did a tamer love scene with Piolo Pascual in the Star Cinema drama Love Me Tomorrow than in Ex With Benefits with Derek Ramsay. “Mas matindi Ex with Benefits naman (laughs). Oo parang wala na atang hihigit dun. Pero the scene that I did with Piolo it’s not as daring. It was actually a lot easier than it looks rin (laughs). Marami siyang mga daya daya. Si Derek at Piolo silang dalawa they’re both very different people and the movie itself were very different. The only thing that remained was direk Gino (Santos),” she said.
Unlike her previous movie, Coleen said there were no more gossip about her boyfriend Billy Crawford getting jealous because it was never true to begin with. “Kasi siguro when nangyari yun if was very new to everybody that I was paired with somebody else and even when I was paired with Joseph Marco (in Pasion de Amor) may mga rumors din na nagseselos si Billy pero siguro nasanay na rin yung mga tao kasi I really cleared the air when that happened. I made it a point na hindi naman talaga nagseselos si Billy. Masaya siya kasi it’s a good opportunity for me above all. Apart from that, (Billy and Piolo) they’re very close friends, sa ASAP same dressing room sila, magkakasama sila palagi so may pinagsamahan na rin sila,” she explained.
Working with the Kapamilya network’s top leading man was something Coleen took as a big opportunity. "Kahit itanong mo kahit sinong actress nowadays would say they want to work with Coco Martin, John Lloyd Cruz, and Piolo Pascual talaga so I feel very fortunate to get the chance to work with Piolo. It’s really a tick off my bucket list. Everybody who approaches him says the same thing, he’s really such a grounded person. Napaka-down-to-earth niya. Di ba out of everybody he’s on top? I mean, arguable he’s on top talaga. So for somebody in his position he’s very, very humble still and he’s very grounded,” she admitted.
For her role in Love Me Tomorrow, Coleen said she had to get over being intimidated working with such big stars. "It’s very light compared to what I’m used to and very modern millennial and she gets into an unlabeled relationship and then kami naman ni Ms. Dawn Zulueta meron kaming friendship. For my character I have my own complex also, meron din akong pinagdadaanan. May mga struggles din siya also relative to her age kasi may mga hindi pa rin siyang napapantunayan. She’s seeking approval, a fulfillment, and also of course love so yun yung mapapanuod niyo. I don’t want to reveal too much,” she said.
After filming, Coleen said she has grown as an actress and looks forward to her next project which is an action comedy film. "Siyempre it was definitely an honor to work with them. Nung una nakakatakot (laughs), nakaka-intimidate. After a while I got to know them more, both as co-actors and as people and pareho silang very humble, very down-to-earth and very professional. I’m learning a lot from them and there are things that I can carry over to whatever my next project will be and it’s just overall a really great learning experience and I’m excited to see how everything will turn out,” she added.
