Young Total Performer Darren Espanto remains in awe that he was able to stage yet another soldout major concert.
Thousands of fans flocked at D Total Experience at the KIA Theater on June 25 to witness their idol showcase another side of him along with guests Jed Madela, Maja Salvador, Iñigo Pascual, Ylona Garcia and the G Force.
Darren’s concert took place almost a year since his first major concert, which also happened to be his birthday show at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
The young singer is planning to take a break after his concert.
“Magbabakasyon ako. Magbabakasyon ako ng ilang weeks in Canada,” he said in an interview after the concert.
“Baka mag-camping kami or do some fun stuff and just relax and then balik to do shows again,” he added.
It may be recalled that Darren recently released his second solo album titled Be With Me.
Just before his fans could worry about him not returning to the country, Darren immediately stated that he wouldn’t stay too long in Canada.
Meanwhile, Darren says he will be staging another concert, probably in the Big Dome, but not anytime soon.
“Araneta siguro in the next few years tignan natin. But I also want to try theater and I want to do one of those mini shows,” he said.
Darren described the “mini shows” as something like jamming sessions with his fans where there is no big production whatsoever.
About his desire to venture into theater, Darren revealed that he, along with The Voice Kids coach Lea Salonga, previously auditioned for a debut Broadway show.
“We auditioned for a Broadway debut called The Prince and I. Tapos I got the lead role, which was the prince tapos she was supposed to be my mom. But due to our schedules hindi nangyari,” he shared.
Despite what happened, Darren still hopes to try his hand at theater acting some time in the future or once his schedule permits.
