Ma’ Rosa indie actor Jomari Angeles to join upcoming Arci-Jericho soap

062516-JomariAngeles_main.jpgIndependent film actor Jomari Angeles, who starred in the Brillante Mendoza movie Ma’ Rosa, is trying his luck in mainstream media through the upcoming TV series Never, Ever Say Goodbye starring Arci Munoz and Jericho Rosales.

Saying that he is more excited than nervous, Jomari said, “Gusto ko lang maexperience, ‘yun lang. Hindi ko alam ang ieexpect ko kasi. Parang I’m here to learn.”

Although he has not started taping yet, he shared that he is aware of the difference between acting on TV and for indie films, and hopes to do well in this project.

Studying his character, Jomari described his role.

“’Yung character ko is younger brother of Jericho. Parang wala yata kaming nanay, ‘yun ang alam ko. Lola lang. Parang young achiever siya, sinusuportahan siya ni Jericho,” he said, adding that Jericho is one of the actors he looks up to. He also idolizes Coco Martin and Sid Lucero who have both starred in indie movies.

What does he envision and aspire to become?

“Basta gusto kong maipakita na magaling akong aktor, flexible. Lahat ng roles sana magampanan,” he said.

Sharing that he would also want to consider having an on-screen partner, Jomari would like to work with Jasmine Curtis and Yassi Benitez

What’s his dream role?

“Wala naman akong dream role basta open lang ako sa lahat ng roles na gagawin. Gusto ko ‘yung parang roles na malayo sa personality ko. ‘Yung mga may sayad sa utak, ganyan. Gay characters. ‘Yung parang mas macha-challenge ka as an actor,” he answered.

Meanwhile, the 21-year-old actor talked about his experience working with Cannes best actress Jacklyn Jose in Ma’ Rosa.

“Hindi mo mafi-feel na Jaclyn Jose siya sa set lalo na noong kay Direk Brillante kasi parang super supportive niya. Parang hindi mo feel na artista siya. Parang kaibigan mo lang siya tapos tutulungan ka niya sa mga eksena. Hindi siya nang-iintimidate so parang ikaw, as a co-actor, mas comfortable ka. Mas maganda may rapport,” he revealed.

Jomari played the son of Jaclyn’s character in the movie, “Parang kami ‘yung mga anak na naghanap ng way pa’no matutubos si Jaclyn Jose kasi na-raid ‘yung house namin. Nakulong siya.”
