EXCLUSIVE: Tessa Prieto-Valdes shares secrets to aging gracefully

No wonder it reflects in how she carries herself—always vibrant.</div><div><br/></div><div>Tessa, who is a working wife and mother, generously shared with <a href='http://PUSH.com.ph'>PUSH.com.ph</a> her secrets to staying young during the German brand GROHE Masterworks event at Wilcon IT Hub in Makati. </div><div><br/></div><div>Admitting that it entails “super hard work” to stay youthful, well-rounded and healthy, Tessa confessed, “I’m really so concerned about aging gracefully.” </div><div><br/></div><div>However, she assured that there is a lot that one can do in order to achieve it. </div><div><br/></div><div>“I think the most important is to really make sure you’re well-hydrated,” she said, emphasizing the value of drinking water especially when one is engaging in vigorous exercises like her. </div><div><br/></div><div>Hydration does not just pertain to drinking water. She also advises people to hydrate their skin by using lotions and moisturizes. </div><div><br/></div><div>Moreover, she explained the importance of keeping oneself active. “I think you (should) also have ‘me time’ which is (what) I do on the weekends like I go to beach and exercise and swim. Every day, I do one activity whether swim, bike, run or yoga or Zumba. You really have to keep a healthy lifestyle as you age kasi you need to make sure that you have your heart pumping at least and sweating… And if you really enjoy what you do, you continue to be an inspiration to other people who are much younger than you.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Saying that age is just a number, Tessa added, “You make your own destiny when it comes to enjoying life. As I always say, life is so short so you need to reinvent yourself all the time whether just dressing up and enjoying time with your family. (You really) need to set your priorities.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Although Tessa is often present in social gatherings, she makes it a point to spend time with her family during weekends as they are and has always been her first priority. </div><div><br/></div><div>“Nothing is perfect. You really have to compromise. You have to learn to adjust. You have to learn to come up and be at par with change,” the event host said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Speaking of adapting to change, Tessa said that she would feel left-behind considering how tech-savvy her children are, “This is really challenging times to be a mother of teenagers and a mother of one in the working force already.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Having four kids, her eldest is in his 30s while her youngest is around 10 to 11 years old. “Motherhood is really a challenge but it’s so rewarding. And you know, there’s no tips or Bibles to show what the best parent can be. You just learn from your children, you learn to be patient and you learn to have some sort of respect for the children today that they can have space to make them grow as well,” Tessa, who admits to being a fun mom, said. </div><div><br/></div><div>“You just have to try to make the most of what you’re given and always look at it as a glass full than empty,” she advised.</div><div><br/></div>
