Ian Veneracion and Richard Yap share their advice for their children

<div><img src='' alt='061916-IanChard_.jpg' width='400' height='290' align='left' border='0'>Although they lead successful on-screen partnerships with actress Jodi Sta. Maria, it is no secret that actors Richard Yap and Ian Veneracion are also successful in their respective family lives.</div><div><br/></div><div>Richard and his wife Melody, with whom he has two kids, celebrated their 23rd anniversary this year. Ian married his wife Pam when he was only 22 years old. Today, they have three children.</div><div><br/></div><div>The <i>Achy Breaky Hearts</i> male leads know the importance of being around their family, particularly their children.</div><div><br/></div><div>Sharing what they think is the most important thing about being a father, Richard answered, “It’s seeing your children grow up and being fulfilled<i> na marami na silang na-achieve</i>. That’s really something that parents or fathers look forward to, <i>na maayos ‘yung paglaki ng mga anak mo. Maayos sila</i>, happy <i>sila</i>. They will be successful.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Ian agreed and said, “Of course you want them not only to be intelligent but also to be kind, most of all. For me, that’s the most important thing.”</div><div><br/></div><div>He also said that that being kind is what he usually tells his children. “<i>Sinasabi ko sa kanila </i>how important it is for me and sure, it’s nice to be successful and smart and this and that pero if you’re not kind, it is pointless so <i>sinasabi ko sa kanila</i>, that’s the number 1 priority. All other things, ‘<i>yun nga, ma-achieve nila</i>.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Richard also reiterated the value of a person’s character to his children. “I always tell them that character is something that you should take good care of. You can be rich, you can be well-educated but if you don’t have any manners, parang it doesn’t really count so ‘yung character mo is very important,” he said, mentioning the need for values like integrity and honesty. </div><div><br/></div><div>For Father’s day, Richard said that he and his family might stay overnight at a hotel, enjoy and have dinner while Ian jokingly wished that his family will surprise him.</div><div><br/></div>

Ian Veneracion has three children while Richard Yap has two kids.
