Instead of marking his 10th year in a business with a show, Gerald Anderson opted to spend it with his supporters and go out of town.
Gerald gathered and brought his supporters to Ocean Adventure in Subic on Sunday, June 12, for a day filled with obstacle activities in what he called Anderson Bootcamp.
According to him, the event was his way of “giving back to them for the past 10 years of support.”
The Because You Love Me actor, who is known for being physically active, claimed that it played a huge part why he opted to have a bootcamp.
“‘Yan yung number one factor kasi as a person nasa isang position ako to inspire other people and ‘yun ‘yung mga gusto kong i-inspire eh. ‘Yung maging physically active and healthy,” he said.
The Pinoy Big Brother Teens alumnus admitted that he never really imagined that he would last in the business. In fact, he thought that he would be going back to General Santos City, his hometown, after his stint in the yellow house.
Moreover, he revealed that there were times when he thought of leaving show business. However, something in him made him push through and be where he is right now.
So what type of Gerald will the public see now, after celebrating his 10th year in showbiz?
“I think Gerald Anderson, hopefully the man. Ito ‘yung taon na gusto ko maging lalaki na gusto ko mula nung bata pa ako. Lahat naman tayo meron tayong ‘pagtanda ko I want to be like that.’ This is me trying to be that man,” he said.
These days, Gerald said he would be more responsible.
“Responsible to my family, to my career. ‘Yung career ko isa sa mga pinakaimportante sa akin ‘yun. My foundation. Alam mo ‘yung everyday merong something na madi-discover sa sarili ko and I want to use it the right way,” he explained.
The 27-year-old actor is currently busy taping his upcoming soap Because You Love Me with Jake Cuenca and Yen Santos, as well as his upcoming film with Bea Alonzo.
