061116-sarahg_main.jpgAt 27, Sarah Geronimo can well be considered one of the showbiz’s favorite “It” girls with her face plastered on billboards all over the country. But she admits there was a time in her life when she did not feel her healthiest. "Siguro nung nagsisimula ako. Nung mga 14-15 years old ako kasi nagsabay-sabay yung trabaho ko nun. Mga taping, pelikula, ASAP, live shows, concerts. Sabay sabay yun lahat pati recording. Na-damage ko din yung boses ko nun tapos payat din ako nun,” she told Push.com.ph.

Now, as an endorser for Myra E, Sarah said she can see why it is important to make your health a priority. "Noon hindi ko na maalala pero hindi kami masyado ma-vitamins nun eh. Pero ito talaga nung nagtrabaho na ako as an actress, as a concert performer, inaalagaan na talaga ako sa vitamins at sa pagkain. Nung nag-schedule na ng one at a time na lang, definitely (nag-improve). Kasi dati sabay sabay. Hindi rin nagiging maganda yung trabaho, nag-su-suffer yung isa, hindi naaalagaan,” she said.

Sarah admitted that despite her picture perfect image, she also had problems with her weight. "Siguro nung tumaba ako ng husto nung 2011 or nung teenager na din ako. Medyo nag-gain na rin ako sa kaka-tour namin sa States noon tapos mag-te-taping din ako tapos may puyatan sa taping. Talagang outlet ko yung pagkain sa taping panlaban sa puyat. Kasi na-e-enjoy ko pang kumain nun eh so hindi pa ako conscious sa katawan ko nun. Pero nakikita ko na sa TV na, ‘Wow, ang laki ko ah!’ Tapos nag-ko-concert din ako,” she revealed.

The talented performer said she noticed the negative effect on her body. "Nung 2011 lumaki talaga ako. Tapos nag-pe-perform ako nun so nag-lu-loose na yung skin tapos nagsasayaw tayo diyan hingal na hingal so ayun, dun ko nasabi sa sarili ko na importanteng mag-workout talaga. Dahil bonus lang yung (mag-workout) para okay yung physical appearance mo and you look good. Ang pinaka-importante yung stamina mo, yung endurance mo as a performer,” she added.

Nowadays, Sarah tries to live a more holistic life by taking more time out to relax and take work in moderation. "Importante na inaalagaan natin yung sarili natin from the inside. Siyempre iba din yung mindset natin pag nakikita natin yang total appearance natin na healthy at meron tayong healthy, glowing skin. Iba young nabibigay na self-confidence in how we carry ourselves. Mas nagkakaroon ng confidence to face people, to present yourself well and of course the way we eat naman, ako as much as possible tina-try ko kumain ng mga tamang pagkain. Pero mahirap naman din young mapili masyado dahil importante din naman na ma-enjoy mo yung mga gusto mong kainin but in moderation lahat. Huwag naman sobra, Ako I work out as often as I can,” she explained.
