Love Me Tomorrow director Gino Santos admitted that he was scared when the film was initially offered to him.

“I was scared when Love Me Tomorrow was offered to me,” admitted Gino in an interview with columnist Ricky Lo in Philstar.

Gino was initially convinced that Love Me Tomorrow was something that should have been done by some other director.

“It’s the kind of film na pang-Inang (Olivia Lamasan), isn’t it? Imagine, Piolo [Pascual] and Dawn [Zulueta] as lead actors. So intimidating!” he confessed.

The film centers on the love affair between a Tita of Manila played by Dawn and a younger man played by Piolo with a millennial in their midst played by Coleen Garcia.

Turns out that whatever apprehension he was feeling was baseless as Gino recalled how their first shooting day went.

“At first, I thought baka pagalitan nila ako,” laughed Gino. “They are so light to work with. They are outgoing and, like me, they are not afraid to go crazy and be silly.”

The first scene they shot was the shocking moment when Piolo came out half-naked from the shower to a dumbfounded Dawn.

“It’s in the script, I told them. As I do with my actors, I asked Piolo and Dawn, ‘Are you comfortable doing it?’ They assured me that it was okay,” he related about how he got the Ultimate Heartthrob to strip for the film.

Love Me Tomorrow directed by Gino Santos starring Piolo Pascual, Coleen Garcia, and Dawn Zulueta is out in theaters nationwide.
