Annabelle Rama denies government position offer from presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte
052016-AnabelleRama_PUSH.jpgFeisty actress and manager Annabelle Rama confirmed that she recently met with incoming president Rodrigo Duterte.

“Na-meet ko na siya. After one week siyang manalo pumunta ako sa kanya. Siyempre bisaya nag-congratulate ako. Kaibigan ko naman siya. ‘Yun lang,” said the Cebuana-bred star at the birthday party of their family’s publicist, Jun Lalin on Thursday.

Annabelle had been active during the election season as she and her family campaigned for her cousin Mike Rama who ran for reelection as Cebu City Mayor.

“Siyempre masaya. Masaya at malungkot dahil natalo ang pinsan ko sa Cebu na alam ko naman na dinaya siya,” she said about her 2016 election experience.

Instead of beating around the bush, Annabelle immediately clarified rumors that her meeting with the incoming president was because she was offered a public position.

“Ay hindi naman, dyusko!” she blurted.

She then continued, “Kung gusto kong humingi ng position madali pero kaso nga wala akong alam. Wala akong experience.”

Annabelle stressed that she is not really aiming to hold a government position.

“Ayoko naman na basta ka nalang magkaroon ka ng position na wala ka namang ginagawa. Eh di titirahin kapa diyan diba? Wala akong hiningi,” she said.

The Gutierrez matriarch even bluntly said that she is not the type “na dahil sikat ka you will have a position pero wala ka namang alam gawin. Ayoko naman ng ganon. Wala hindi ako interesado.”

Meanwhile, Annabelle is confident that the Digong’s doubters are wrong.

“Para sa akin kaya niya. Kaya niya ‘yung sinasabi niya na three to six months [wala ng krimen], kayang kaya niya ‘yan,” she said.

During his campaign even in recent interviews, Digong has stressed that there would be curfews and stricter government measures soon as he assumes his post.

Annabelle believes that it is but high time for such stern governance to take place.

“Okay na rin kasi sakin para maiba naman, pagbabago. Kailangan natin ‘yun eh,” Annabelle said.

She continued, “Kasi marami diyan ‘yung mga corrupt. ‘Yung mga drug pusher, dealer dapat diyan, mga killer mga kidnapper dapat matapos na talaga ‘yan. Kailangan natin ng matapang na presidente.”
