At 29 years old, Maxene admitted she is not the type to keep secrets from her fans and avid followers. "I’m already of age eh. Hindi naman ako kaka-start lang sa industriya. Hindi naman ako baguhan na 15, 16 years old. I’ve been there and right now I guess it’s just time for me kasi kelan ka lang ba magiging 29 di ba? Before you turn 30. And kelan ka lang ba maging 25, 26, 27? So even if nandito ako sa industriya na ito I don’t think to think na magiging limited na ako or I need to hold back or I need to hide anything because if you do then you’ll have regrets. You’ll have what ifs and I just don’t want to live my life like that. It’s more of I guess it’s the right time and okay lang naman, I’m of age and I just want to celebrate and live my life to the fullest,” she said.
Even though there have been some who comment about their “PDA” on social media, Maxene said there is no more need to give reasons for it. "Our relationship is very ‘what you see is what you get’ and we connect on so many levels because he’s the only one who actually understands and really makes it a point to really understand me, to really get me. I love it and I feel so kilig every time he says this, that he loves my mind and he loves my heart. He loves the way I think, my ideas, my thoughts. It’s the first time that someone really appreciates that about me. He’s everything talagang rolled into one and I think that he’s the perfect partner. That’s what I think I would say. I don’t want to say husband material because I don’t want to jinx it or get ahead of myself, I just want to enjoy the moment right now. Right now all I can say is he’s the perfect partner. He’s so encouraging, so supportive, he lets me be myself,” she explained.
A few months shy of celebrating their first year anniversary this year, Maxene said she couldn’t ask for a better relationship. "People say that when they see us they feel like we’ve been together for more than that and parang that’s the thing, quality over quantity. Sobrang happy happy lang (laughs). Almost one year na (kami) malapit na,” she said.
Although they have not talked about making a serious commitment yet, Maxene shared that she is very much in love. "I don’t want to jinx anything but I would say that he is the best friend that anyone would ever hope for and you know in every relationship I believe you should be best friends first. Masaya ako that we can be best friends and at the same time we can also make each other feel kilig,” she said.
The Love Me Tomorrow actress (who plays Dawn Zulueta’s daughter in the movie) said it is the most mature relationship she’s ever had. “Maybe before it was all just puppy love, or something na play play time lang or something that people just go through. I mean I don’t regret anything, everything is a lesson to be learned and with Robbie it’s so different. It’s the first time that someone actually understands and gets me. I just appreciate it so much,” she added.
