After Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho’s announcement on social media about their baby Scarlett Snow, many were curious as to how the couple was able to have children, with their age gap not being a secret to the public.
On his column in The Philippine Star, Ricky Lo shared information on the newest showbiz baby.
Snow is already 14 months old and was born March of last year in the USA. She was conceived through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) with an American-Mexican surrogate mother whom Dra. Vicki and Hayden haven’t met.
According to Ricky’s sources, this costs around 8 million pesos.
Now that Snow’s story can now be told, the newspaper editor also shared that Vicki invited him, talent manager and entertainment scribe Lolit Solis and other close friends to an ‘important event’ last July 2015, only to find out it was Snow’s christening at the Santuario de San Antonio near Vicki’s house in Dasmariñas Village, Makati.
Snow’s list of godparents include business mogul Manny V. Pangilinan and actress Anne Curtis.
Even though Snow came from a surrogate mother, Dra. Vicki still treats her like her own flesh and blood.
“I felt that she was God’s gift to me. The moment I saw her I loved her,” she said.
Ricky also mentioned that Hayden wanted to marry the doctor to the stars but Vicki had doubts because of their age gap, even though they are in a relationship for 11 years.
Hayden secretly planned a special proposal when they were in Houston, Texas. He initially wanted the proposal to happen in Morocco, because Vicki has never been there but changed his mind.
“I saw Hayden in the aquarium holding a card with the words ‘WILL YOU MARRY ME?’ written on it. No wonder he briefly disappeared from beside me. When I turned again, he was beside me na and a scuba diver appeared in the aquarium holding another card with a ‘SAY YES’ on it,” Vicki recalled.
“Even if Hayden was vocal about being ready for marriage. I really doubted it,” she said.
The wedding may not have happened, but the couple admitted that Snow’s presence in their lives changed them for the better.
