EXCLUSIVE: KC Concepcion is excited about mom Sharon Cuneta’s stint as The Voice Kids coach
051716-kc.jpgActress KC Concepcion told PUSH.com.ph that she is very excited about her mother Sharon Cuneta’s stint as a coach in the upcoming third season of The Voice Kids, replacing Sarah Geronimo.

Acknowledging the difference of being a host versus that of being a mentor, KC who hosted X Factor before, said, “Sobrang excited ako for her because it’s a fun show and she’s a mother na parang ang world din namin is ganyan, ‘yung kantahan, performing so sanay na sanay siya sa gano’n and ngayon lang din maririnig ng tao ‘yung opinion niya pagdating sa kids, sa talent ng bata. And she misses ABS-CBN so much, di ba? She’s very happy to be back.”

When asked about what she thinks her mother’s approach will be, she talked about Sharon’s beginnings in the music industry. “Si mama kasi, ano ‘yan eh, kid at heart so siguro maalala niya ‘yung mga tinuro rin sa kanya ‘nung 12 years old. She was a superstar at 12 years old, di ba? Everyone knows that. Hindi pa kami buhay ‘nung time na ‘yun. ‘Yung song niya ‘Mr. DJ,’ hanggang ngayon kinakanta pa rin,” she said.

Moreover, KC said, “So motherly (approach), I’m sure lalabas ‘yun pero sana marinig rin pati naming mga anak niya ‘yung maalala niya ‘yung mga siguro advice na nakuha rin niya ‘nung time na ‘yun and maipasa niya sa mga kids ngayon kasi minsan lang ‘yung ganyang Megastar na from 12 years old… So she really knows what she’s talking about when it comes to performing.”

Meanwhile, the actress was also asked about how she feels that her stepfather Kiko Pangilinan is among the senatorial candidates who made it to the top 12 in the partial and unofficial election results.

Saying that it was her siblings Frankie, Miel, and Miguel who campaigned for their father, KC said that as part of the United Nations (World Food Program), she is not allowed to campaign. However, she described Kiko as a father, “Everyone knows naman he’s been a good father to me also ever since I was 12 years old and napaka-hardworking din niya. Alam mo ‘yung makikita mo talaga na sincere siya… and I’m not just saying that because I have to, it’s something I’m very honest about also. Nakikita namin sa bahay kung gaano siya naaapektuhan kapag may problema ‘yung bansa. Nadadala niya sa bahay to the point na nireremind namin siya na ‘dad, when you’re home, try to relax a bit kasi hindi mo naman masosolve mag-isa lahat iyan.’ And nadidismaya rin siya kapag mayroon siyang nakikitang pwede namang ayusin, pwedeng solusyunan and then hindi nagagawa so we know na ‘yung heart niya, nandoon.”

Should Kiko be officially proclaimed a senator, will this affect their bonding time as a family? “Busy naman lahat. Actually, sanay naman kami sa schedule naming gano’n and sanay rin kami to balance. Work-life balance talaga and si dad rin naman ‘yung nagtuturo sa’min noon,” she said.
