Vilma Santos is now the representative of Batangas’ newly created 6th district.
From being
governor, veteran star Vilma Santos is now the representative of the newly-created
sixth district of Batangas.
Instead of being
called Cong. Vi, the Star for All Seasons, in a recent interview on Ricky Lo’s
column for The Philippine Star,
laughingly shared that she prefers to be called “Congee.”
The seasoned
actress has already served as Batangas Mayor and Governor both for three terms
already.
Now, with a new
designation, Vilma shared that she will be shuttling to and from Batangas and
Manila to attend sessions in the Metro.
Vilma stressed
that she is going to have a relatively looser schedule compared to when she was
still a mayor and a governor.
Although she has
seemingly poured her heart into public service, Vilma assured fans that she
still has her heart for showbiz. In fact, she points out that having a new
designation would not mean that she is leaving show business for good.
“Same pa rin. I might do one movie
every two years, every three years,” she said.
Vilma’s last
movie was Star Cinema’s Everything About
Her, where she co-starred with Xian Lim and Angel Locsin.
