Denise Laurel considers her digital album a ‘passion project’

“Yeah, I’m recording and producing my own album. I’m on my fourth song going on fifth.

“They haven’t really approached me. Ayoko namang maging makapal ang mukha. Baka sabihin nila... There’s gonna be this new group that is coming in like Spotify also, I don’t know if I can name them yet, we’re working with them.

“And then, I know ABS-CBN and Star interactive is gonna be supporting me and all of their social media accounts. I have a geat team also working with me, mga composers ko. I’m gonna start tapping also Tito Vehnee (Saturno).

I think times are changing and now it’s so easy to reach out to the people and share your music, di ba?” she said.

Ayon pa sa Your Face Sounds Familiar season 2 grand winner, “Parang passion project ko to. And if other people invest in bags, in shoes and travelling ako naman, I wanna do something that I really want.”

Coming from a political clan, iginiit ni Denise na hindi siya kailanman nagbalak na pasukin ang pulitika.
“No, no, hindi talaga. You know, hopefully by the time na matanda na ako, I want to be remembered as somebody that helped without having a position (in the government),” pagdidiin niya.

“I feel like we could complain all we want about the people who seat in position but what about ourselves? Anong ginagawa natin?

If we keep on doing the same thing, kahit sino pang matinong umupo diyan wala ring mangyayari,” giit pa niya.

“Kasi I grew up without feeling privilege. If you want something that’s not a need, you have to work for it, you have to save for it. Or if you have a goal, dapat trabahuhin mo yon... Alam mo yon, yung disiplina importante talaga yan.

“All of us, even Kuya Rajo, Kuya Franco, Tito Kokoy, my lolo, my dad, in our own way, we never relied on our last name (Laurel)... you know what I mean?

“In our family kasi, you find strength in things that don’t go your way. Kasi for us, anuman yung nae-experience namin na mahirap, may natutunan kami do’n, eh,” pahayag pa ni Denise.
