051416-japoy_main.jpgTaekwondo jins Japoy Lizardo and Janice Lagman’s engagement set the internet abuzz and their relationship was an inspiration to some netizens. The couple got married last May 8 in Tagaytay.

Japoy and Janice shared with Sports U host Dyan Castillejo how their love story began. Janice saidd that they have met through the sport taekwondo when she was still in high school but they didn’t have the chance to get really close.

Janice also added that they started to become close in 2012 when she got lost in Korea. Janice was trying to find the hotel where they were supposed to stay and Japoy helped her locate it. After that they began to have constant communication.

For the couple, taekwondo has a big significance in their relationship and they elaborated how they inspire each other.

Even though they already stopped competing, they didn’t stop doing what they love. Both Japoy and Janice are now teaching taekwondo and sharing their learnings to kids.

Nag decide kami na try to pass naman our you know, our talents to others and through younger generations nga na in time, pwedeng maging sila naman yung tulad namin na nag i-international competition, so ‘yun yung gusto naming goal na later on meron kaming mga Olympians dito,” Janice said.
