As his Star Cinema film Just the 3 Of Us continues to make it big in the box office, John Lloyd Cruz admitted he is just too busy to focus on dating right now. "Hindi pa eh. Marami pang trabaho. I’m really taking my time kasi medyo may edad na rin tayo hindi na tayo puwedeng pa-date date lang. I’d rather be working than dating,” he said during his launch as the new Great Taste Coffee endorser last May 11 at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Ortigas.
The Kapamilya heartthrob was reluctant to share details with the press when he admitted that he and ex-flame Angelica Panganiban had been exchanging text messages. "Kasi alam ko na naman yung gagawin niyo dito eh. Parang pag pinag-uusapan na we’re in communication parang iba na naman yung ma-de-develop na kuwento eh. Di ba alam naman nating lahat yun. Kumbaga parang it’s normal. All but normal. Sana huwag mabigyan ng kulay or huwag mabigyan ng ibang ibig sabihin because dalawang tao kaming may pinagsamahan and hindi naman imposibleng maging magkaibigan kami,” he admits.
Apart from helping promote his movie on her social media account, the Great Taste Coffee endorser admitted he and Angelica are on good terms despite the breakup. "Oo nagpapasalamat ako sa kanya (for helping promote the movie). Ganun naman siya ever since eh. And like I said we’re friends so parang ang friends naman nagbibigay ng suporta sa isa’t isa,” he said. The 32-year-old actor shared what he thinks will make their friendship work. "Paano ba, openness sa communication? Yun lang naman yung mga puwede mong ibigay para mag-function yung friendship di ba?” he added.
With Angelica’s “hugot” lines on Banana Sundae becoming more and more popular, Lloydy does not want to comment if it was meant to be about him. "Naku, ano yun eh, it’s a gag comedy show so parang it wouldn’t be too great kung isipin ko para sa akin yun. Kasi parang not everything is about you John Lloyd (laughs). Di ba? Napaka-arogante naman kung iisipin ko na lahat yung mga yun ay patama sa akin. Sa kaso namin alam namin yung totoo. Alam ko yung totoo and I think that’s more than enough para hindi ko isipin yung mga ganung bagay,” he explained.
Apart from having another movie lined up later this year, Lloydy said work is now his top priority. “Hindi pa naman ako ganun katanda so I have enough time. But right now I’m enjoying this. I have more time for myself, more time to actually exercise kung ano yung mga bagay na interesado ako about. Kung may dumating, bakit hindi di ba? But for now, okay muna ako dito. Parang hindi naman yata hinahanap yun (marriage). Ganun din, parang no one is ever ready pag ganun eh so I guess when it happens, it just happens,” he said.
